Purpose
This is an outcome oriented statement about the project and whilst being comprehensive
should also be concise.
For example:
To obtain a better understanding of the expectations that the community have for
levels of service on low trafficked roads and how this translates into measures
of road condition.

To ensure technical specifications are kept up to date to reflect technical change.and develop Austroads road condition monitoring specifications, test methods and commentaries which can be applied across all jurisdictions and road classes.

Deliverables
This is a statement to describe what outcomes and outputs will be achieved through
the project. An outcome is how the project will benefit the user and an output is
what immediate result will be available upon completion of the project.
For example:
- (i) An assessment of community perceptions of local road conditions using a broad
based local roads sample.
- (ii) An assessment of the implications of community standards on Council's costs
and maintenance strategies.
- (iii) A kit for Councils to establish the appropriate level of expenditure for
Local Roads.
